The Rotary-Unifour High School Model UN will require students to use the internet for research, communication, and even marketing to participate in its conference. Tuesday evening, high school teachers met at Lenoir Rhyne to learn more about how the conference would function. One of the themes of the conference is how technolgy is globalizing our economy and work force.
The two day conference will begin on a Friday evening and end Saturday evening with an awards banquet and an international speaker. Students will have access to different forms of media including video, the internet, and radio.
Model United Nations is a simulation of a United Nations assembly where students act as representatives of a country. They must have an understanding of their country's position on issues, know parlimentary procedure, debate and negotiation. The Model UN program is offered on Middle school, High School and collegiate levels.
