David Foster Wallace Suicide: Wife Calls Police

"Infinite Jest" writer David Foster Wallace died of hanging himself, his wife reported suicide to police.

David Foster Wallace (pictured above), the writer who was best known for the book Infinite Jest in 1996, was found dead. Apparently, the 46-year-old writer died of a suicide by hanging himself at his California home. Currently, it is not known what the cause to make Wallace take short of his life.

David Foster Wallace, the novelist, essayist and humorist best known for his 1996 tome “Infinite Jest,” was found dead last night at his home in Claremont, according to the Claremont Police Department. He was 46.

Jackie Morales, a records clerk at the Claremont Police Department, said Wallace’s wife called police at 9:30 p.m. Friday saying she had returned home to find her husband had hanged himself.
