John McCain Shows on Letterman and Tied to G. Gordon Liddy

The 2008 Presidential Candidate John McCain returned to the Late Show with David Letterman after a controversial no show weeks ago. Letterman turned on the heat by tying McCain to Gordon Liddy.

McCain, booked weeks ago, failed to show up on the comedy show mentioning that he had to fly back to Washington to help fix the economic crisis only to be exposed that the candidate was in fact interviewing with Katie Couric.

Letterman tore into McCain and even tied him and his friendship to Watergate figure G. Gordon Liddy. Letterman was trying to make a correlation between the Obama - Ayers relationship and his own relationship with the convicted G. Gordon Liddy. McCain did agree that he know Liddy and that he had paid his debt to society for his crimes.

McCain said on the Letterman show, "I screwed up. What can I say? What can I say? It's been reviewed pretty well what happened. We've been through this."

Letterman appeared to be very intense when discussing the vice presidential candidate but never got an answer as to why McCain chose her.
