Kansas is setting records, but not settling much with Nebraska Huskers. KU is tied 14-14 in Lincoln after Todd Reesing broke KU's career passing yardage record and Dezmon Briscoe broke records for single-season and career touchdown receptions.
The game between Nebraska Huskers and KU is being televised via pay-per-view because it was not selected for over-the-air or cable television coverage as part of the Big 12’s regular television package. It is be Nebraska’s second consecutive appearance on pay-per-view.
Kansas answered long Nebraska scoring drives with a busted-play touchdown to Kerry Meier and a 53-yard touchdown catch by Dezmon Briscoe.
Nebraska quarterback Joe Ganz is 17-for-25 for 198 yards, but has an interception, one of two first-half turnovers by the Huskers. Reesing is 5-for-9 for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
KU's first touchdown was the highlight of the half thus far. Reesing rolled out and took a huge, direct hit from a Nebraska defender, but stayed on his feet and found Meier all alone down the sideline for a 23-yard touchdown with more than three minutes left in the first quarter.
KU took a 14-7 lead when Reesing hit Briscoe streaking down the sideline. The sophomore receiver, who has three catches for 110 yards, broke a tackle and went 53 yards for his 11th touchdown of the season and 18th of his career, both KU records. He broke Marcus Henry's single-season record set last year. For the career mark, he topped Willie Vaughn and Bruce Adams.
