David Cameron Urges Brown To Speak Out On Damian Green's Arrest

David Cameron has called on the Prime Minister to make his opinions clear on the issue of Damian Green’s arrest.

The Shadow Immigration Minister was arrested on Thursday for making public information that the Government wanted to keep secret.

Writing in the News of the World, David said Mr. Brown would be “guilty of hypocrisy” if he didn’t speak out on “the right to vigorous opposition in politics”, including publishing information which is in the public interest and those of Parliament itself.

David said, “When it comes to vigorous opposition, if this approach had been in place in the 1990s, then Gordon Brown would have spent most of his time under arrest. He made his career from passing on Whitehall leaks.”

And he added, “I’ve made my opinions clear. It’s time for the Prime Minister to do the same.”

By the Conservative Party.
