In a short news NYPost reports that Oprah Winfrey is in a Washington D.C. househunt, apparently looking for a house in the nation's capital to be as close to Barack Obama as possible. However, Celebuzz writes that the report is untrue. Remember that she was one of the first and earliest celebrities that endorsed Barack Obama. Is Oprah entering politics?

NY Post reports "OPRAH Winfrey wants to be as close to Barack Obama as possible. Insiders say Winfrey has started a preliminary search for a home in Washington, DC.

"A nine-bedroom Georgetown mansion she's said to have asked about is listed at $50 million, but another source said, "She has never personally been to see it." We're sure Winfrey will try to swing by during Inauguration week. Her rep didn't return calls."

Oprah is not headed to Washington D.C. writes Celebuzz. "This report is absolutely untrue," says Oprah rep Lisa Halliday.

"Winfrey instead sits content with her current real estate portfolio, which includes a penthouse in Chicago (where her syndicated talk show tapes), several condominiums on Fisher Island off the coast of Miami and a 42-acre estate named "The Promised Land," in swanky Montecito, California."

Is Oprah buying a house in Washington D.C. or not?
