Here is what major retailers are offering.
J.C. Penney welcomed bargain hunters starting at 5:30 a.m., offering deals such as 70% off jewelry.
Sears is offering up to 75% off on electronics and 50% off on Craftsman tool storage chests.
Barnes & Noble is offering 50% to 90% off thousands of books and calendars
Neiman Marcus is offering 40% off selected sale items.
Crate & Barrel is promising savings of up to 70%.
Retailers cut prices to get more sales. However, is this enough?
People, though, do take advantage of these post Christmas sales. In UK millions log on to Christmas Day sales, reports Telegraph. "Marks & Spencer, Argos, Halfords, Comet, B&Q, and – for the first time ever – John Lewis are among the stores offering large Christmas Day discounts on their websites.
"More than five million people are expected to spend £104 million over the internet today, up from £84 million last year, as retailers attempt to shift leftover stock. Chains including Debenhams and Tesco are promising even better deals in the Boxing Day sales."
Some consumers are using online social networks to find greatest Day After Christmas sales and to rely on community recommendations. One of them is a new entrant in the web of social networking www.REIZIT.COM, which aims to raise more awareness about better products and gadgets that are sold online.
The idea is very simple, yet powerful. If you shop online and see a cool deal or a great product that you think other people may like too, simply submit it to REIZIT.COM with a short description. Other people can vote for it and promote it if the product gets enough votes.
You need to have a Reizit.com account to be able to submit your favorite products, but it's free.
