The ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery features an AGM (absorbed glass mat) design, which protects against high impact shock and mechanical vibration to prevent premature battery failure. In addition, the ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery is packed tightly with pure virgin lead plates for maximum surface area and optimized recycling. The lead plates provide twice the overall power, and three times the service life of conventional batteries. The ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery also recharges to 100% capacity in 4 to 6 hours, faster than any sealed lead battery on the market.
“The ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery is ideal for the serious racing enthusiast, as it provides extreme power, reliability and versatility,” said Dana Kowalski, marketing communication supervisor for EnerSys. “Not only is it built tough for high performance applications, it’s lightweight and compact characteristics lead to a stronger performance when used in racing scenarios.”
The ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery also is built to operate under extreme temperatures. For models without a metal jacket, the ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery can withstand temperatures from -40 C (-40 F) to 45 C (113 F). ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery models with a metal jacket can withstand temperatures from -40 C (-40 F) to 80 C (176 F).
Like other ODYSSEY® batteries, the ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery is a12-Volt drycell battery, and is maintenance free. It’s sealed design recycles gases internally during operation or charging. Other design features include high conductivity, corrosion-resistant, tin-plated brass terminals; a high integrity terminal seal; sealed design gases recycled internally during operation or charging; and robust inter-cell connections to prevent vibration damage. Additionally, the ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery is classified by the US Department of Transportation as a non-spillable battery. The ODYSSEY® Extreme Racing™ battery also is covered by a 3–year full replacement warranty.
