NY Times writes that "this game, despite pitting two teams who lost in their respective conference championship games, will provide a nice aperitif for the B.C.S. title game on Thursday. Ball State, which is having the best season in team history, will attempt to rebound from its potentially debilitating loss to Buffalo. Oh, and they’ll do it without the help of Coach Brady Hoke, who headed West to the sunny beaches, beautiful co-eds and reclamation project of San Diego (State).

"Tulsa, winners of 20 games in the past two seasons, lost to East Carolina in the Conference USA championship game. But while the quest for redemption is an intriguing storyline for both teams, it’s the offense that should grab your attention. Tulsa is second in the nation in both scoring (47.4 points per game) and yardage (565.1 per game); Ball State features one of the best quarterbacks in the country in Nate Davis."
