Those of you who have been using Google's News Search service know that it has shun using it's famous contextual advertising on those pages. The economy has changed it.

Some searches in Google News already will surprise you by showing contextual advertising on the right sidebar on your browser as Google is trying to monetize from its growing news service.

My searches ranged from the terms health insurance to Armenia and produced well targeted contextual advertising that come from Google's Adword program. However, not all of the searches yield contextual advertising, but this could be because of the fact that ads in Google News are new and it may take some time to crawl the entire system.

Google News has launched in 2002. It scans 4,500 news sources in real time, creating a dynamic news page displaying top world, U.S., and business news. Google News service is completely automated. It relies on the same information-ranking technology used in the popular Google search engine to deliver relevant results. The same technology is used to let users search a all-date index of news stories archived by the news service.

Adword advertisers may now see their ads appearing in Google News and not only in Google organic results and content network. Adsense publishers should know that as the existing ads will be distributed in Google News too, they may experience some shortage and price decline of ads.
