Performances will include stunning arrangements of classic Tango repertoire and a fusion between the classical concert music and the folk flavour of the Latin-American countries. This fitting finale to the 2009 edition of the National Multicultural Festival showcases the significant contribution made by Latin American composers to world music, including Mexico’s Manuel M. Ponce and Colombia’s Gentil Montana, among others, celebrating diversity through excellence.

Colectivo29 is a vibrant, adventurous quintet featuring some of Australia's finest musicians. An ensemble playing Argentine Tango from the Golden Era of Tango in the 1930s - 50s, Colectivo29 evokes sounds shimmering with energy and excitement. From a subtle glance across a crowded room or a lonely solo violin evoking lost love, this group captures a world of emotion in every performance. . The band pays homage to the great tango composers of the past with stunning arrangements of classic Tango repertoire that produce a captivating mix of searing string melodies and rhythmic accordion and piano. The music that has inspired generations to the passionate close embrace will melt your heart and move your feet.
The Cuatro’s Quartet is form by the most experienced members of the Win Wollongong Symphony Orchestra’s String Section. It is interesting that having a strong Eastern European Background; their admiration for the Latin-American Music is part of their artistic preferences. Cuatro’s Quartet will bring diverse arrangements from popular pieces of Colombian music, reflecting the contrasting geography of the Colombian territory and the rich diversity of its cultural life and folk expressions.
Latin Chamber Ensemble brings to life a fusion between classical concert music and Mexican folk. Cellist Cony Ruiz, former principal cellist of the National Youth Orchestra of Mexico, pianist Irma Enriquez, who completed her music degree in Mexico, and a Master Degree in Art-Music in Spain and violinist Henry Avila, who attended Julliard School of Music in New York, under the guide of Lewis Kaplan, Glenn Dicterow and Margaret Pardee, are joined by harp virtuoso Victor Valdez whose powerful and passionate baritone voice gives the ensemble a bright crisp of unusual energy.
