There is a lot of exitement in the Xbox Live community about the release of Halo Wars demo. Xbox's Major Nelson says that the demo is available in all regions. However, TVG reports that the Halo Wars is due for release in UK on February 27th.
Some people have commented that Major Nelson may have jumped the gone about the date and time of the Halo Wars demo release.
Even in Nelson's website few people comment and say that the Halo Wars demo release is not available for them. One person for example writes that "It's not on Live yet. And although listed on the Xbox.com Marketplace, it CANNOT be added to the queue yet. Trying to do so shows a 'this page is unavailable' error"
Similar comments have surfaced in other websites as well. But it looks like the Halo Wars Demo is available for some others because gamer Dark_vendetta gave his first review of Halo Wars Demo release.
It reads:
My impressions: (played the demo 1 week ago, but should be the same one)
+ controls work really good
+ amazing rendering work before every mission
+ easy to get into the game
+ (my opinion) good graphicsneutral:
I don't know if you'll need tactics to win, or just build all units and attack (what is really important in an RTS). The demo is too short, so I'll have to judge depending on reviews (the developers said the demo is only about getting into the controls, and at the end of the game you'll have a few hundred units at once on the screen, so you'll need tactics. Hope it's true)negative:
only 30 unit max in the first 2 missions. But as stated above this should change during the missionsAll in all I really enjoyed the demo and preordered the game already (got it for 55€, it's a fair price). I really hope the multiplayer (up to 3vs3 player) will be intense.
Halo Wars lets you effortlessly command powerful UNSC and Covenant armies in epic battles. Designed from the ground up for the Xbox 360, experience events in the Halo universe 20 year prior to the events of Halo: Combat Evolved. In the Dash Text description it reads the following "[ESRB: T (Teen) MILD BLOOD,MILD LANGUAGE,VIOLENCE]."
Note the Teen part. The moral of this story: what good is there to introduce our teens and young generation to "mild blood, mild language and violence" with these types of war games?
