Dr. Renelique was not present when the act was committed, but at a hearing, he was charged with falsifying medical records, inappropriately delegating tasks to unqualified employees, and malpractice.
The emotional rollercoaster began when 18 year-old Sycloria Williams discovered she was 23 weeks pregnant and chose to have an abortion. Once she went to the abortion clinic, she discovered that Dr. Renelique was not there, but was told by his staff to wait for him. In the mean time, she was given two pills to take, which made her feel ill, causing the staff to give her a bed to lie down in.
Suddenly, Williams felt intense pains, and realized she was going into labor. Her baby girl was delivered, about 13 weeks too early, causing the staff to erupt into chaos. Before Williams could object, a clinic co-owner entered the room, cut the umbilical cord, and placed the live baby in a plastic biohazard bag, which she threw into the trash can.
Dr. Renelique arrived about an hour later, gave Williams a shot to put her to sleep, and sent the stunned and bewildered teenager home the next day. Police then received a tip from an anonymous caller, causing them to obtain three warrants to search the clinic. On the third search, they found the body of the baby in a cardboard box, hidden in a closet. The baby was linked to Williams through DNA testing, and an autopsy showed the baby girl had filled her lungs with air before perishing.
Williams filed a suit against Renelique, claiming that she has suffered severe emotional distress and trauma as a result of the incident. Undoubtedly, no one needs to ask why. This is quite possibly one of the most shocking stories in the recent news.
