What is shocking is that this fourth grade teacher Amber Carter has 13 years of experience in teaching, has never been on a disciplinary action and has never received a reprimand. The school has put her on an administrative leave while the investigation is going on.
The news about Amber Carter is not only getting a local but also a national attention as many parents and good teachers are concerned about this kind of behavior.
One of the local newspapers, the Bellefontaine Examiner Online has more indebted coverage on Amber Carter's case. The online newspaper writes that Carter is now free on bond and no date for her initial court appearance had been set as of this morning.
School administrator Larry Anderson, Ph.D. says that the school is shock. "She has never been a disciplinary case and I’ve never heard of her being reprimanded. Her annual reviews have always been very satisfactory," Dr. Anderson told Bellefontaine Examiner Online.
We tried to contact the telephone number listed for Amber Carter in Bellefontaine in Ohio, but her phone was always busy. Therefore, we could not get what she had to say about this unethical situation.
It is also known that that the police had received an anonymous tip on Feb. 4 about her ad on Craigslist, writes Bellefontaine Examiner.
As a conclusion to this story it will be helpful to remind our readers and teachers about the Teacher's Code of Ethics where in point 1.2 it reads "The teacher shall direct his whole professional effort to assist the pupil to develop his whole personality including his ability to work."
