Obama Highlights Energy With Namaste Solar Electric's Blake Jones

Barack Obama showed his confidence in the solar energy and the jobs that the renewable energy sector can create by visiting the solar installation at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science today before signing the stimulus bill into law. Obama's team was joined by representatives from Namaste Solar Electric, Inc, a Colorado-based employee-owned solar electric company.

According to the Colorado Independent "Biden introduces CEO Blake Jones of Namasté Solar — pronounces the name, a Tibetan word which is a bit hard for East Coast easterners to say correctly, a bit out of wonk and says Jones can call him “Bidden” if he mispronounces the name of his company. Blake takes him up on it."

Blake Jones of Namaste Solar Electric is a former Haliburton employee is one of three founders of Namaste Solar, an employee-owned company. "After leaving the oil and gas industry Jones went to work in Nepal to outfit remote villages with sustainable solar energy. Since returning to Colorado Jones has led Namaste to dominate the solar energy industry with a unique business model," reports The Examiner.
