Another sad plane crash news greets us this morning. Now it comes from Amsterdam as the Turkish Airlines plane crashes in Amsterdam's Schiphol airport. Authorities are saying that nine people were killed and more than 50 injured Wednesday when a Turkish Airlines plane with 134 people aboard slammed into a field.

Turkish Airlines aircraft crashes while approaching Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

At 10:31 this morning, while preparing to approach the runway at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, flight TK 1951 from Istanbul made a crash landing along the A9 motorway near the Rottepolderplein in the village of Haarlemmerliede.

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which was carrying 128 passengers and 7 crew members, broke into three sections upon impact.
Relief services are currently attending the aircraft. No information is available at present about the number of passengers who were injured.

Air traffic to and from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is gradually being resumed.
