Mencap statement on the death of David Cameron's son, Ivan
Mencap is saddened to hear news of Ivan Cameron's death. Our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.
The Cameron family have asked anyone considering sending flowers to instead make a donation to one of their five chosen charities, including Mencap.
Mark Goldring, chief executive of learning disability charity Mencap, said:
"Our thoughts are with David and Samantha Cameron and their family at this deeply distressing time.
"We are truly honoured to be chosen as benefactors by the Cameron family.
"Donations will go towards Mencap's work providing support for people with a learning disability, like Ivan, across the UK. This includes support with education, employment and healthcare so people with a learning disability can become equal and active members of their community".
