"The iMac’s CPU has been upgraded to Intel’s newest Core i7 processors. The previous iMacs weren’t slow but the new iMacs should be quite the performer. We’ll see just how fast when reviews pop all over the Internet. The 24″ iMac can be equipped with up to a 3.06GHz Core i7 processor; there are two slower versions at 2.66GHz and 2.93GHz.The 3.06GHz iMac should be a snappy performer but one thing that concerns me is the potential for heat-related problems since the external design hasn’t been changed. Maybe there are more holes on the case somewhere. The GPU has been updated to NVIDIA’s GeForce GT 130 512MB for the high-end 3.06GHz 24″ iMac and to the GeForce GT 120 256MB on the 2.93GHz 24″ iMac. The lowly 2.66GHz 24″ iMac gets the integrated GeForce 9400M GPU as do the 20″ iMac. These new GPUs power the 24″ TFT LCD that sport a 1920 x 1200 pixel format on the 24″ iMacs," writes Displayblog in his review of the latest new iMac updates.
