According to AP Malia and Sasha got a new gift today while they were at school. A Rainbow Play Systems swing set was set for them int he White House yard so they can play. Don't worry about the pricing on the taxpayers and here is why.

According to Rainbow's Illinois distributor Joanie Barrus, reported in Chicago Tribune "they paid for it themselves." The public shouldn't worry about the Rainbow Play Systems pricing because the two beautiful children have the right to play and enjoy their childhood years.

There has been a tradition of Swing Sets in the White House

So now Sasha and Malia have their own castle in the White House.

The pricing on a similar Rainbow Play Systesm is in the range of $3500 dollars. This is to satisfy the curiousity of the press and the people.

A simple search in Amazon.com shows one set which is priced $1,599.87. By the way these things are heavy. The shipping weight of this particular swing set is 840 pounds.

In the year 2000 Rainbow Play Systems Inc. announced a recall of Play Sets to replace Swing Chains. At that time in the year 2000 the Rainbow Play System stores nationwide sold the play sets with the defective chains from March 2000 through June 2000 for between $1,200 and $6,000.
