Police is questioning Cleveland Browns reciver Donte Stallworth for an accident that happened this morning in Miami and ended up the the death of a pedestrian.

"Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth hit and killed a pedestrian with his Bentley on Saturday morning on a busy causeway linking Miami and Miami Beach, police said.

"Stallworth was headed toward the beach when he hit a 49-year-old man around 7 a.m., said Miami Beach police spokesman Juan Sanchez. The unidentified pedestrian was taken to a nearby trauma center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later. He was near a crosswalk but it's not clear if he was crossing legally," reports AP.

Huffpost says Donte Stallworth's agent did not comment on the accident but wrote that they understand the seriousness of this accident. Stallworth has signed a seven year 35 million dollar contract with the Cleveland Browns.

According to Miami Herald the fatal wreck involving NFL player Donte Stallworth snarls traffic in the Miami beach.

Elaborating on the traffic details and where was Stallworth going the Herald writes that Donte Stallworth was headed eastbound when the accident happened at 7:17 a.m., according to Detective Juan Sanchez, a police spokesman.

"Police have identified the victim as 59-year-old Mario Reyes, believed to have worked at a nearby construction site, according to Miami Herald news partner WFOR-CBS4.

"Sanchez said Stallworth is cooperating with the police investigation. Officers drew blood from Stallworth at the scene, a way to determine if he was drinking. It is routine for officers to draw blood after fatal accidents."

Police says Donte Stallworth was collaborating with the investigators and is not charged. He was driving a black Bentley.
