Yesterday afternoon actress Natasha Richardson was hospitalized after she was injured having a ski accident. Today the Washington Post reports that Richardson's ski accident is serious and she is in a critical condition. Some live reports are reporting that she has suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury.
Natasha Richardson is injured in the head and her husband, "Taken" star Liam Neeson, had to leave the filming scene in Toronto to rush to the hospital.
I am now reading some Twitter reports about Natasha Richardson's ski accident and people are talking that she has suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Witchyflickchic writes "I'm very saddened by the news about Natasha Richardson, but mostly b/c it reminds me of all the soldiers suffering from TBIs." Revbrandy is "reading about natasha richardson and is very sad. The possibility of traumatic brain injury is just tragic."
British Telegraph, reporting the news about Natasha Richardson, writes that 10,000 Britons injured while skiing every year. May be the skiing and winter recreation industry has to look into the safety a little more carefully and come up with a plan that can reduce this number. If 10,000 Britons are injured, can you imagine how many people worldwide are having ski accidents?
Skiing accidents come to our attention only when they are related to a celebrity that makes news. In that past we have reported a jet skiing accident involving a New England Patriots player. Also I remember Sonny Bono, who lost his life in a Colorado skiing accident mentioned in this story.
Accordig to Natasha Richardson's IMDB record she Natasha made her feature film debut as Mary Shelley in Ken Russell's Gothic (1986). In 1995 she co-starred with Jodie Foster and Liam Neeson in Nell (1994) and, in 1998, in The Parent Trap (1998) with Dennis Quaid. Her recent films include Blow Dry (2001) released in 2001, and Ethan Hawke's Chelsea Walls (2001).
Richardson is the daughter of famed British actress Vanessa Redgrave, 72, and producer Tony Richardson. She and his husband have two sons: Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12.
We wish Natasha Richardson a quick recovery and our thoughts and prayers are with her and the family after this skiing accident.
