One of the most popular areas in Cancun is known as the hotel zone. As you can more than likely tell, the hotel zone is an area where most of the hotels in Cancun can be found. Right in the center of the hotel zone is an area called the Interactive Aquarium.
People come to Cancun from all over to see this small but very up to date aquarium. This is one of the few places in the world that lets you get up, close, and personal with the sea life. Other aquariums may let you pet rays and sharks, but at the Interactive Aquarium, guests are able to do all of this, as well as nurse sharks. People are allowed to touch starfish as well. However, the biggest attraction there is the ability to swim with dolphins in a very large pool.
One of the main reasons why people choose this area is for the beaches. This is a spot that people visit when they want to get out in the sun. there is no better way to enjoy the sun than out on the beach. The water and sand in this area is amazing. The water is a great turquoise color, which is very famous for that area. The sand is also another selling point of Cancun. In fact, the sand is very powdery white, which just adds to the up class feel. The ocean around this area does offer a very pretty good challenge for swimmers. However, if you have people who are not good swimmers, then you may want to choose a resort around Isla Mujeres. That is because it has a much more relaxed feel to it.
For people who did not get enough swimming with the dolphins at the Interactive Aquarium, then you can head over to Wet n Wild to swim with some more dolphins. The great thing about Wet n Wild is that you can do more there than just swimming with dolphins. The only bad thing about swimming with the dolphins is that they do not allow pictures, meaning that you have to pay for them to take pictures. This is a way for the hotels to make some extra money. The fee for the first photo is $25, and $20 for every picture after that.
Although it may seem a bit funny, a lot of people also come to this area to go bird watching. The best place to go bird watching is at the airport. The airport area is pretty much carved into a forest, and thus, there are a lot of animals you can see around this area. Animals can always be seen at the airport, and this is great for people who want to see these kinds of animals. People are able to see them without having to travel into the forest themselves.
