Today is Good Friday. The Christian church commemorates the crucifixion and the burial of Jesus. I wanted to read some opinions about Good Friday in Twitter and few stood out that I will share here. They are related to stock market and working. One person says I work on Good Friday when even the stock market is close.
"Working at a Catholic School. It's Good Friday, but I am at my desk? How does that make any sense? Stock Market isn't even open," twits scraggygirl this morning.
She seems to have a point, but not quite. Stock Market is closed on Saturdays and Sundays too, but the churches are open and the church staffs with their pastors and priests work very hard on Sundays to serve the people and to meet their spiritual needs. When you go to church on Sundays things don't just happen. There are many staff members and volunteers that work closely with your priest or the pastor to make you feel welcome.
In another interesting twit I read a wife sharing that she is glad her husband is home on a Good Friday because the stock market is closed on Good Friday. Apparently the husband works in the stock market.
LourdesRocks, in my opinion, has a point when she twits that "If the stock market is closed for good friday I think banks should be too."
I found the following message interesting too. It's about people being off while children have to go to school on Good Friday. "Yeah my kids have to go to school on Good Friday and I have the day off because the stock market is closed. Go figure!"
In any case, Good Friday is a wonderful opportunity to reflect on your spirituality even if you are not a Christian.
