Why Would A Woman Jump Into Polar Bears Prompting Attacks?

In Germany polar bear attacks woman at Berlin zoo after she jumped into the moat. Berlin Zoo workers saved her life, but no one yet knows why this woman jumped into the moat.

The polar bear attacked her and bit her several times. Berlin zoo workers distracted polar bears who were swimming nearby and tossed rescue rings toward the woman to hoist her out and thus saved her life from further attacks from the polar bears.

In this image you can see that this women, who plunged into the moat and will be attacked by the polar bears in few seconds, seems to be very happy. Therefore, the question remains why did she jump into the polar bears?

What kind of person thinks it's a good idea to jump into a polar bear enclosure? Not only did she climb a gate and a hedge of bushes to get in, but smiles for the cameras and swims to the polar bear that was minding his own business.

I was reading some live opinions in Twitter about the woman being attacked by polar bears at Berlin zoo and actually could not find a single one that had sympathy for the woman. Most people wonder why and condemn her action. But I think the condemnation comes because none of us yet know why would this woman jump into the moat of the polar bears.

By the way, Berlin Zoo is famous in the entire Germany with its Polar Bears. One of the names of the polar bears is Knut who is the big star of the Zoo Berlin. The little polar bear was born on Dec. 5, 2006 and the first polar bear to be born in Zoo Berlin in over 30 years.

#1 crazy

One word CRAZY. Poor polar bears I hope their ok. I would say the same for the woman but its best make no comment than a bad one.

#2 Woman with polar bears

The poor bears will probably need years of therapy!

#3 Mentally unbalanced?

It's common knowledge that bears are dangerous predators; this person must have something wrong with her. Perhaps she's mildly mentally retarded, perhaps she was delusional or hallucinating. In any case, the lack of compassion online, or even interest in this person as a human being, shocks and disgusts me. Yes, she endangered herself and the bears. Whatever her problem, she ought to be protected from herself, not condemned.

#4 Mental Illness

I think it's probably safe to say that mental illness played a major role...

#5 haha

hahahhahahahaha thats so dumb what a mum to jump in there and plan to kill her self she has a ife to worrie about and kids!!!!!!

#6 Well..

i have herd that she jumped in as she droped her ipod into the lake and the polar bears were gonna be put down x i dont know yet for fully if they are yet x

#7 No Words......

I have no sympathy for this woman what so ever, not only did she endanger herself but she endangers the polar bears as well. I don’t know what she was thinking jumping in their habitat, but to than swim towards the bear. What was she trying to accomplish a suicide? This woman needs mental help. THE TITLE FOR THIS STORY SHOULD BE “WOMAN ATTACK POLAR BEAR AND POLAR RETALEATED WITH A COUNTER ATTACK.” I bet she will think twice before she jump somewhere else, pure entertainment for me lol.

#8 Super Natural Powers

I've heard of people who think they are more ( in tune) with nature than others. They think that they have this connection with plants and animals. She probably thought that she could swim right up to the polar bear unharmed and pet it, thinking that the polarbear would understand her and allow that sort of behavior. Some people think they can give an animal the love they need that others cant giveand proove to everyone that they can be cute, cuddley bears, but they need to understand that these are WILD animals. They don't need people in there lives, and they do want to establish a loving bond with them. That's why people who own exotic animals are usually harmed or even killed.
