Alton Bay Fire Burns 52 Buildings In NH

According to Fox News Alton Bay Fire in the state of New Hampshire is burning at least 52 buildings. It's not clear what size are the buildings and if there are people inside.

In this excerpt from Fox report about the Alton Bay fire we read the following:

"Firefighters tell the News 9 television station in Manchester that 52 buildings burned at the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center, 30 miles northeast of Concord. The buildings are cottage-type seasonal homes. There are no reports of civilian injuries. One firefighter has been hurt.

"The fire erupted at 4:30 p.m. Easter Sunday, when Christians were celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The fire's cause hasn't been determined."

In the website of the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center we read that "The purpose of the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center is to change lives by encouraging commitment to Jesus Christ and offering opportunities to mature in one's Christian life style. We attempt to accomplish this through evangelism, encouragement of believers, and equipping Christians to be effective leaders in their homes, churches, workplaces and communities."

Reading eyewitness accounts of the Alton Bay fire in Twitter I see one person writing "Wow, big fire down in Alton Bay - looks like 50 structures have gone up, winds are howling out there."

At this point is not clear for reporters if the fire is only burning buildings in the Alton Bay Center or because of the wind has spread in the surrounding areas. According to Foster's Daily Democrat "Several explosions occurred during the blaze. Firefighters reported at least one explosion-related injury, but could not immediately provide more information about who was hurt or how."
