It's not clear what has caused Jay Len's hospitalization and why is he hospitalized, but speculations have mounted that he may be suffering from food poisoning. However, it's not known at this time if it is true or what type of food poisoning he may have.
ABC Local published an AP report that Jay Leno fell during the show's taping. ""Tonight" show host Jay Leno has taken ill and taping of his show has been canceled. His spokesman, Dick Guttman, says Leno left his office at NBC's Burbank studios about midday, and checked himself into a hospital for observation. Guttman characterized his ailment as "mild."
According to KTLA Tracy St. Pierre of NBC told the TV company that "tonight's show taping has been canceled. There had been speculation that Leno may be suffering from food poisoning, however St. Pierre said she did not believe that was the case. She would not elaborate on the comedian's condition, except to say Leno was being checked out by doctors."
However, KTLA writes that Jay Leno is in good spirit and writes jokes in hospital bed.
