Elisabeth Hasselbeck has published a new book on Gluten Free Diet where she discusses a survival guide for those who have gluten allergy. The G-Free Diet: A Gluten-Free Survival Guide introduces the reader with gluten free recipes and gluten free foods.

Hasselbeck was featured this morning on ABC News discussing her Gluten Free Diet and telling her personal story of Gluten free lifestyle.

Talking about her Gluten Free Diet style she tells how she had to go through her own journey of living on Gluten free foods. "I learned about gluten the hard way. I wrote this book so you don't have to. Most people with celiac disease, like me, have a story to tell. My hope is that in reading mine, and the pages that follow, you will be able to begin your journey to a better body and a better self—without all the heartache (and bellyache!) that I endured for far too long," she tells to ABC.

In the book description section of Amazon.com the publisher has written the following on Elisabeth Hasselbeck's Gluten-Free Survival Guide.

"For years, Elisabeth Hasselbeck couldn't figure out what was making her sick. She asked doctors and consulted nutritionists, but no one seemed to have any answers. It wasn't until spending time in the Australian Outback, living off the land on the grueling Survivor TV show, that, ironically, her symptoms vanished. Returning home, she pinpointed the food that made her sick -- gluten, the binding element in wheat. By simply eliminating it from her diet, she was able to enjoy a completely normal, healthy life. But that wasn't all. Hasselbeck discovered the myriad benefits that anyone can enjoy from a gluten-free diet: from weight loss and increased energy to even the alleviation of the conditions of autism.

"In this all-inclusive book, Hasselbeck shares her hard-earned wisdom on living life without gluten and loving it. She gives you everything you need to know to start living a gluten-free life, from defining gluten - where to find it, how to read food labels - to targeting gluten-free products, creating G-Free shopping lists, sharing recipes, and managing G-Free living with family and friends."

While working on this story and learning more about Gluten Free Diet I came across a twit that may be interesting for our readers. It compares the Gluten Free lifestyle with the Atkins Diet in the following way. NutritionLuver twits: "Here we go! Elisabeth Hasselbeck is endorsing a Gluten-Free diet. Here comes the new Atkins! Manufacturers will love this."

One wonders how the Gluten Free Diet will contribute or stay neutral with the already existing diet wars.
