Martha will have those recipes on Everyday Food journal as well. This morning on the Today Show she actually showed how she can make four different cakes with only one recipe. The idea of the fourth cake with the same recipe Martha Stewart came up overnight.

Here are the ingredients of the Versatile Vanilla Cake recipe that Martha showed on Today Show.

• 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature, plus more for pans
• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (spooned and leveled), plus more for pans
• 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 2 large eggs plus 3 large egg yolks
• 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
• 1 cup low-fat buttermilk

Whipped frosting
• 3 large egg whites
• 3/4 cup sugar
• Pinch of salt
• 1/3 cup water
• 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
