Acorn Under Suspicion

The Association of Community Organizations for Reform also known as ACORN is the subject of numerous lawsuits in many states with the latest in Nevada.

Accusations of voter fraud have revolved around the organization, even months before the last presidential election . Nevada Secretary of State Democrat Ross Miller outlined new charges made against Acorn last week saying, “It's against the law in Nevada to pay individual registrants to register people based on the total number of people that you've registered. That's a Category E felony and was the basis for us filing a criminal complaint in conjunction with the attorney general's office.”

Acorn’s national spokesperson Scott Levenson denied the charges.

Several ousted former Acorn board members are calling for an investigation of $1 million they say disappeared. Some are blaming ACORN founder Wade Rathke’s brother for the missing money. In addition there are now new questions of how money is funneled to the local Acorn affiliates around the U.S.

An investigation revealed on Glenn Beck’s television program today found all Acorn funds go through one group called Citizens Consulting, Inc. CCI charges an undisclosed fee to distribute the money through one address in New Orleans.
