Cape Verde Islands Identified Plane Missing Area

Officials say the missing Air France plane lost contact with the authorities near Cape Verde Islands. Air France told Brazilian authorities the last information they heard was that automated message reporting a technical problem before the plane reached a monitoring station near the Cape Verde islands.

Cape Verde Islands are known to be cheap vacation destination for the European and particularly British holiday travelers. They have become the latest buzz word in the world of family holidays. The islands sit just of the coast of Senegal, West Africa and boast nearly all year round sunshine and temperatures. With just an extra hours flying time from the Canaries, and a choice of departure airports from the UK, you could not wish for a better placed Caribbean without the 9 hour flight.

According to the latest reports from France 24 the authorities have located an area where they believe the plane may have gone missing and the search is in process to identify it.

Some Brazilian newspapers have reported that people in the plane have send SMS text messages. Some read "I love you." Some others read "I am afraid."
