Roger Federer wins French Open 2009 Men's Final. Just few minutes ago Federer was crowned as the 2009 French Open winner, repeating the record that Pit Sampras has set in the past. A wonderful tennis player just became the winner of another Grand Slam tennis tournament.
Federer did stand at the gates of some tennis greatness today and he became wonderful after his win of French Open 2009 in Paris.
The Swiss made legend finally by becoming of the 2009 French Open winner secures a career Grand Slam and equals Pete Sampras' record of 14 majors.
Earlier today we reported of a shocking parallel between how Pit Sampras became a winner and how Roger Federer could be a winner of today's French Open. His wife's pregnancy is shockingly linked to it. By the way, some have referred her as Roger's girlfriend, but that's his wife. She is pregnant and is due in August.
"As NY Times reports there is a historical precedence. When Pit Sampras became the winner of his 14th major title, his wife, Bridgette Wilson, was pregnant with their first child and was watching from the stands in New York. On the verge of his 14th, Federer’s new wife, Mirka Vavrinec, is pregnant with their first child as she watches him in Paris."
Being today's French Open winner enabled Roger Federer to become only the sixth man in history to win all four Grand Slam tournaments
The enormity of Federer's achievement was evident on match point when Federer fell to the red earth of Roland Garros weeping tears of joy. Minutes later, Andre Agassi was on hand to present the Coupe des Mousquetaires and share in the Swiss legend’s delight as he held the trophy to the air, 10 years after the American had sealed his own career Slam with a far more hard-fought win here over Andrei Medvedev.
The weather was stormy, but Roger defied it. The rain gained in intensity through the middle games of the second set.
Roland Garros's official portal reports about the end of the game. "As it was, the end was what most neutrals had been hoping for, and suitably moving. Soderling mishit on break point to take us to deuce, Federer then coolly dispatched a volley to take himself to championship point, and a big serve was enough, as Soderling netted. Federer fell to his knees, the crowd rose to their feet and the Paris thunder rumbled overhead."
