LSU Tigers blog comments on last night's College World Series 2009 game with Longhorns.
If there's one thing LSU did very well throughout the regular season, it was win a series after losing a game. The Tigers won 7-of-9 rubber matches in weekend series during the year, and lost back-to-back games only once. The only difference this time is that the starters are out of rotation. Ranaudo, overmatched Arkansas last Friday to put the Tigers in the championship final. Now, the sophomore righthander will take the mound for a true national championship game.
Texas will counter with Cole Green (5-3, 3.07 ERA) -- with just about it's entire pitching staff behind him.
LSU head coach Paul Mainieri commented the following in an opening statement. "I think we'll stay around here in Omaha for another day if that's okay. Would have been nice to win today, but [Jungmann] had a lot to do with us sticking around. He was outstanding, he had good velocity and a good slider. This was our first loss in 15 games, it's pretty hard to win every game in baseball, at least that is what they tell me."
Now we will have to wait and see if College World Series 2009 score board may change this evening.
