Patti Blagojevich, the wife of former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich, was voted off of the NBC reality show “I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!” yesterday. Mrs. Blagojevich managed to hold her own for three weeks on the show which takes place in the Costa Rica jungle.

Before she left, Patti was praised by her co-celebrities on the show. Sanjaya Malakar, a former American Idol contestant who was also ousted from the celebrity rumble in the jungle yesterday, said of Mrs. Blagojevich, “You’re one of the strongest women I’ve ever met.”

During Mrs. Blagojevich’s 25 days in the jungle, she persevered through many trials and potentially dangerous stunts such as dining on huge, hairy tarantulas, tracking through tons of mud, and almost getting swept away down a raging river. After all was said and done, Mrs. Blagojevich said that the experience has left her hopeful about the future.

“Once you've been able to survive 25 days in the jungle, I think that anything life throws at you from here on out is going to seem easy."

Rod Blagojevich had this to say about his wife’s performance on the show, “I am so proud of her and so happy she will soon be home," he said. "The American people had a chance to get to know Patti and see why we love her so much."

Patti Blagojevich is scheduled to return to Illinois on Thursday.
