Laptops which are only an inch thick, capable of offering powerful computing and costing only $500 is something which is far from an average buyer’s day dream. The latest from the top rivals Intel and AMD is to bring ultra-thin budget laptops to the masses by using Ultra Low Voltage chips with adequate processing power.
Technology analysts are predicting this kind of pricing could lead to a massive demand and eat away the profits Intel and AMD are making from selling premium range laptops.
Some of the recent developments undertaken by these rivals clearly show their intent to introduce smaller and cheaper netbooks. AMD had partnered with Hewlett Packard to produce DV2 series of laptops or Intel’s CULV chip has been featured by Asus at the Computex trade show in Taipei.
