Armenia, which recently has made headlines as an adventure travel destination because of numerous mountains and cheap prices yesterday started it's first international rock climbing festival called Arev.

Yesterday, on July 1, Armenian rock climbing club Up The Rocks kicked off the “Arev” Armenian First Rock Climbing Open Festival. The guest participants came from Iran, Russia and Armenia. At about 5 PM in the evening, the rock climbers moved to the 25m basalt rocks (1,5 km to the north-east of Davidashen bridge) Hrazdan gorge, Yerevan.

After getting there Hossein Roshanmanesh and Mostafa Saghaf did FA of “Qazvin firefighters” free climb, 40m, first pitch - 5.10a(20m, 7 small cams, 3 pitons, natural anchor), second pitch – 5.10d(20m, 6 small size cams, 1 piton, 2 natural protection, natural anchor).
During his climbing Hossein Roshanmanesh dropped a lot of loose stones down, and one of them scared crowd on the ground a lot.

After the climbing team got back to the “Spitak” rescue center, Vadik Sirekanyan from Miass Russia did the FA of the boulder problem “Blood analyze” V6, 13 hand moves. It's a pity we couldn’t take photos in the dark. The crux part is overhanging relief with fingertip pockets for both hands and bad footholds on the friction, then you need to dyno up.

Tomorrow at noon the climbers will head to the Noravanq canyon in the southern Armenia for a 10 days climbing. Wait for the Noravanq climbing news on July 12-13!
