Tehran Yerevan Plane Crashes Killing All 168 On Board

Sixteen minutes after the take off Tupolev with 153 people on board crashed near Qazvin province of Iran and burned at once. Evidently the crew of 15 died. The aircraft of the Caspian Airlines was following Tehran – Yerevan route flight 7908. No concrete details from the spot are yet reported.

The crashed aircraft attempted emergency landing

TU-154 plane RV 7908 of Caspian Airlines heading from Tehran to Yerevan attempted an emergency landing, Iranian Press TV reported referring to Fars News Agency.

“The aircraft all of a sudden fell out of the sky and exploded on impact, where you see the crater,” a witness told Press TV.

Deputy Governor of Qazvin province Sirous Saberi says the military forces are searching for the plane's black box to determine the cause of the crash.

The Tupolev plane went down near Jannat-abad village near Qazvin at 11:33 am local time on Wednesday after it took off from the Iranian capital Tehran to fly to Yerevan. All of 153 passengers and the crew of 15 on board are confirmed dead.

A Hot Line has been opened at the Ministrry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia connected with the crash of the Caspian Airlines plane en route from Tehran to Yerevan.
