We had covered the news last week and said that HULIQ will be there to attend it due to the proximity in driving distance. It takes about one hour to drive from Hickory to Charlotte.
When we got there at about 2PM despite the summer hit we saw about 15-20 kids playing in the playground, especially set up for the children. Parents were testing Armenian and Georgian wines and Baltika Beer. Czech beers, that are held in high esteem in Eastern Europe, were also available.
The menu was great. It included various types of barbecues, soups, seafood, salads, Georgian Khinkali and Khatjapuri. Being an Eastern Europen from Armenia myself it was not surprising for me. However, it was great to test food from known cuisins and see how the people appreciated food that is delicious and test.
Then, in the evening, at about 6PM Alexander from Russia started to provide background music singing. I mean this guy was singing from the heart. We all enjoyed Alek's singing. After than at about 9PM the Discotheque started with people dancing. Security was provided.
I saw people who came all the way from Raleigh and Columbia in south Carolina. When I asked them how come you drove all the way to attend the Grand Opening of the restaurant. They told me Kavkaz is the only place in the area where they can get together, have a great meal and enjoy some good Eastern European music seatting inside or outside. You know in European cultures seating outdoors in restaurant is the way to go when the weather is nice.
By the way Aleksandr now will be singing at the Restaurant Kavkaz every Saturday I was told, due to the customer demand.
