Mom makes mortgage apple cake preventing foreclosure

One would never think there may be a link between paying a mortgage and baking an apple cake, but if you name your dessert as mortgage apple cake, to pay off your house loan and prevent foreclosure there will be one. This is what one mother did and touched the hearts of national and international media.

A resident of New Jersey, a divorced mother of three children, prevented her foreclosure by selling homemade cakes that she prepared and sold. She called them mortgage apple cake. These cakes don't have a particular recipes, it's the innovative idea behind the recipe.

Angela Logan only needed to raise $2,500 dollars to keep her house. Some people sell what they have, others try to find another job and yet others ask for money from friends and relatives. Logan decided to bake cakes. Her recipe? She just named it mortgage cake.

Logan wanted to sell 100 cakes called "mortgage apple cakes" for $40 dollars each. As the caring people and the media picked up her "mortgage recipe" in few days she already had 500 orders. This included one order from Hong Kong.

Public health officials in New Jersey notified Logan that the state law does not permit the use of a private house to prepare food for commercial purposes, but the Hilton Hasbrouck Heights allowed Logan to prepare her mortgage apple cakes in the kitchen of the the hotel.

According to NorthJersey.com Angela Logan also signed a contract with an online cake seller. They will finish her orders, after which the mortgage apple cake will be absorbed into their product line.

Always think out of the box people. There is always a way to prevent and stop your foreclosure. Bravo to Angela Logan and the likes of her for keeping the spirit of entrepreneurship alive in America during the time of the recession. If your house is facing foreclosure may be you can make mortgage apple cake with your own recipe and sell in your neighborhood. Surely your neighbors will applaud your intention.
