The Shark Week 2009 will start on Discovery Channel this week featuring series of documentaries about one of the most mystical animals of the sea world, the sharks. Sharks arouse much curiosity among humans, especially if they live near the oceans.
Shark Week begins today with Blood in the Water (9 pm), a film which tells the story of the shark attacks that inspired the 1916 film Jaws.
Tomorrow, on Monday, it will be the turn of the Deadly Waters. Discovery Channel in this second series of Shark Week will feature the places where the most deaths have occurred due to shark attacks. The same evening at 10PM the discovery Channel will transmit the story of a member of a Navy Seals who was attacked in the water of Florida by sharks.
Next in Shark Week is the SharkBite Summer. It will feature on Thuesday at 9PM. It will show the stories from 2001, where nearly 50 incidents occurred at U.S. beaches. On Wednesday Discovery Channel will feature the Great White Appetite. It will air at 9PM. The documentary will examine the aggressive behavior of sharks. The last documentary in Shark Week 2009 will air on Thursday exploring the territory of the most wild marine animals: Sharks After Dark.
Interestingly, the action about Shark Week 2009 is not only on TV. Discovery Channel at dsc.discovery.com/ has set up a comprehensive information portal about Sharks. One can play shark games, take part in various quizes to find out "what type of shark are you," and learn all about sharks in Discovery Channel's shark guide.
