Continental Flight 128 Diverted After Turbulence Injures 26

Continental Flight 128, flying this morning from Rio De Janeiro to Houston, was diverted and emergency landed in Miami International Airport due to air turbulence. Authorities say 26 people were injured. For of them are injured seriously.

Kathleen Bergen, who is the spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration, said that Continental flight 128 safely landed in Miami this morning at 5:30 a.m. Est. The plane reported hitting severe turbulence at 4:30 a.m.

According to CNN the severe turbulence happened north of Dominican Republic. At the altitude of 38,000 feed the Boeing 767 hit sever turbulence about 50 miles north of the Dominican Republic. An official with the Federal Aviation Administration is referenced with this information.

The we called Miami-Dade Aviation Department's Office of Communications and Security, but no one was available to to answer our quest of what type of first aid are the passengers receiving. However, CNN reports that Ambulances and other vehicles were lined up on the runway to treat and transport the injured passengers when the plane landed at Miami International Airport at about 6 a.m. ET.
