Total Security implies total PC disruption

The program denominated Total Security (alias Total Security 2009 or Total Security 4.52) has absolutely nothing to do with computer security function. Being a direct successor of the immensely hazardous System Security malware, Total Security inherits the forerunner’s basic malicious characteristic features and amends its known drawbacks.

Total Security maintains the rogueware traditions by infiltrating host PCs and networks through trojan viruses whose ultimate objective is to locate security vulnerabilities in the system to be challenged. The consequences of such stealthy tactics are apparent - Total Security gets on board undetected and commences the fulfilment of its renegade plan without even a hint of user awareness and, certainly, authorization.

With Total Security inside, you will encounter unannounced system scanners, tons of false positives, nag screens and annoying browser redirections to insecure online resources containing malicious and contagious scripts to infect the PC yet further.

The most vivid traits possessed by Total Security pseudo anti-spyware comprise a multitude of trickeries that virtually disable any and all attempts implemented by the malware’s victims to tackle the pest. For instance, Total Security is known to block executable files so that no antivirus can be unleashed to handle the rogue activity on the compromised machine. In addition, Total Security tends to prevent users from accessing Safe Mode with Networking which enables bypassing the hindering activity of the parasite. Not to mention the Task Manager blocked and System Restore option disabled. On the whole, Total Security paralyzes the injected system and leaves not much choice to its desperate victims but purchasing the fakeware’s license or trying something absolutely different to resist the cyber-pandemic.

However, on a number of occasions Total Security could be deceived by doing the following.

Go to My Computer – Open up C drive – Open Windows folder – Search and open System32 folder - Locate “taskmgr” file and rename it “iexplore”. Doing this will bring up the Task Manager where you should find the process Total Security is running (it’s a numbered .exe file like 74135896.exe). Go ahead and close that process. After doing that, Total Security should be disabled for a while, so you shouldn’t waste your time and use a trusted antivirus program to eliminate Total Security while it’s not resisting.

If the above method doesn’t work, try to do the same under a different user (if there is none, just create one). It should be noted that Total Security goes unevenly aggressive on its victims, so some of the infected PCs may exhibit a different degree of Total Security impact.

Anyway, since prevention is better than cure, it’s recommended to keep your antivirus software constantly updated and prepared to intercept any trojan attempting to bypass your system authentication. Since Total Security is a nasty cyber-impostor, stay away from it and do your best to remove the scareware if you happen to encounter its attack.
