Powerball numbers of August 19 drawing are out and according to Powerball.com there is a winner. The winning lottery ticket was sold in South Carolina.

Powerball.com writes that "There was one Powerball jackpot winner Wednesday and 1,847,677 additional players won prizes totalling more than $20.1 Million. The estimated jackpot will be reset to $20 Million."

So the winner ticket was sold in South Carolina, but it does not mean that the winner is from South Carolina. It could be that someone was passing from PA to Florida or from Georgia to Kentucky or North Carolina.

The August 19 powerball numbers and the search for the winner has got the attention of the national media. Phylly.com writes that "Four more tickets won $1 million for having the first five numbers, plus the Power Play multiplier option. Two were bought in Indiana, one each in Iowa and Indiana."

Powerball is played in 30 states. Tomorrow's next big lottery is in New Jersey and in 11 other states where the Mega Millions lottery jackpot is around $207 million dollars.

According to Tampa Tribune "Somebody in South Carolina is happy this morning. That's where the winning ticket was sold to Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot, worth an estimated $250 million, or about $125 million if taken as a lump sum." This large prize of yesterday's powerball has been building since July 1st. It took 15 straight drawings and strong lottery ticket sales that eventually resulted in a winner last night.

Somebody in South Carolina is very happy this morning after the August 19 powerball drawing.

Congratulations to the winner. If you have to play powerball, please play responsibly.
