Plane Crash Lands in NJ Rockaway Mall

NY area newspapers report that a small plane crash landed in Rockaway city mall in New Jersey. According to AP "A small plane has crash-landed in the parking lot of a northern New Jersey shopping mall. A woman who works in a store nearby says the pilot is being treated by paramedics."

Thank God no one was injured neither on the plane nor on the Rockaway mall parking lot. Recently the public has heard too many news stories about plane crashes ranging from Iran, Europe and USA. Has the recent global recession put the flight safety on the back seat?

Daily News reports on a Rockaway mall plane crash landing.

"The pilot and a female passenger crawled out of the single-engine Cessna after it made an emergency landing outside the Rockaway Townsquare Mall, authorities told the Daily Record. They were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

"The 30-year-old plane reportedly was heading to Essex County Airport when it encountered engine problems and was forced to land. On its way down, the aircraft struck several trees before skidding into an open swath of the mall's parking lot, the paper reported."
