If you are trying hard to lose weight or counting your calories the Double Down Sandwich by KFC may still not be with you. KFC raised some eye brows again but selling double down sandwich where the rolls are not brad, but chicken.
Currently the official website does not have any information about KFC double down sandwich. However, FOX news says it's selling, and fried chicken replaces bread for rolls.
Fox news reports that that KFC Double Down chicken sandwich is being test marketed in Rhode Island and Nebraska. Questions, though, remain open about the calories and about the health aspects of those calories.
According to Vancouver Sun The Double Down sandwich can be estimated to supply more than the daily recommended allowance in fat. They do say that it's guess-based. "Our figures are only an estimate based on nutritional information listed for individual ingredients on the KFC website," writes the newspaper.
KFC, while not having any information on its website about the Double Down chicken sandwich, apparently did not like that. Huffpost reports that Rick Maynard, who is with KFC's public relations, contacted The Huffington Post to say KFC estimates the numbers from The Vancouver Sun are inaccurate. "According to their estimates, although they have not done an official workup the Double Down contains the following nutritional information:"
Calories: 590
Calories from fat: 280
Total fat: 31g
Saturated fat: 10g
Trans fat: 0g
Cholesterol: 190mg
Who do we believe? At this time no one is one hundred percent correct based on the information that is circulating in the media. Here is why.
Note that Vancouver Sun, referring to the KFC Double Down sandwich calories says that their figures "are only an estimate." On the other hand, from Huffington Post's KFC reference we see that KFC has not done an "an official workup," yet they believe that Vancouver Sun's numbers are incorrect.
Therefore, it's up to you how you approach to KFC's Double Down Sandwich. One thing is clear, it has many calories.
