Barclays Golf Tournament 2009 Begins at Liberty Golf Course

Today at the Liberty National Golf Course kicked off Barclays Golf Tournament 2009.

The bonus of the tournament is $10 million dollars. The winner could be someone that name of which has not even been heard before. Tiger Woods is preparing too. Asked why he plays, according to AP he replied that he qualified that's why.

On August 26, yesterday, The organizers of Barclays Golf Tournament 2009 provided the following update.

"Wednesday, Aug. 26 — The day before play begins at The Barclays and the 2009 PGA TOUR Playoffs, the world's top players took to the Liberty National course in the Official Pro-Am tournament. For many players and fans, this was the first chance to experience the new, world-class golf course in Jersey City, NJ.

"Many players took some time to enjoy the spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty, before all their attention turns to the competition for the rest of the week."

The Liberty National Golf Course that hosts the Barclays Golf Tournament 2009 cost 250 million dollars to build. The course is quickly gaining regocnition as a premiere destination for top golfers in NYC and beyonde. It features "A4" hybrid bent grass green, which they claim is an expression of excellence. The size is 7,400 yards and Par 71.
