The fifth generation of Toyota's SUV 4Runner 2010 will debut at The State Fair of Texas Auto Show (USA) in late September. In Japan Toyotas 4Runner is also known as Hilux Surf SUV.
According to La Tercera on September 24, Toyota will present in Texas the fifth-generation 4Runner, pure and simple an SUV, which has already produced 1.8 million units since 1984, according to the Japanese manufacturer.
The 70% of them are still in operation.
In the absence of more data about Toyota's 2010 SUV model, we can say that the 4Runner 2010 model will replace the current generation of 4Runner being almost 7 years in the market and shares the platform with Land Cruiser Prado / Lexus GX470. The later will also be updated shortly.
The State Fair of Texas Auto Show occupies 400,000 sq. ft. of interior and exterior exhibit space. It’s not uncommon for visitors to "shop" here first.
Toyota released a teaser picture of the 2010 4Runner on its Flickr profile and according to Toyota, the fifth generation 4Runner “offers sure-footed off-road capability and increased comfort with added roominess.”
Recently Toyota topped the list of Cash for Clunkers program sales. The car maker's share accounted for the 19 percent of all sales and had two of the top three best-selling models. Cash for Clunkers results in 690,000 units of car sales, according to the Department of the Transportation. NY Times writes that the success of Toyota and the other Asian automakers was driven by the type of cars in their showrooms.
