TD Ameritrade Upgraded To Outperform

As we have seen an outstanding rise of the U.S. stocks since the beginning of the year, no wonder the brokerages are upgraded to outperform. BMO Capital upgraded TD Ameritrade to outperform.

Michael Vinciquerra of BMO Capital Markets on Tuesday upgraded shares of online broker TD Ameritrade (AMTD 19.57, +0.33, +1.72%) to outperform from market perform on "continued solid trading activity, solid fundamental trends and a positive long-term outlook."

According to Marketwatch "TD Ameritrade shares are up 35% for the year-to-date period. "We've been looking for an upgrade opportunity for some time and while shares jumped Monday ... we still find them attractive," Vinciquerra wrote in a research note."

According Wallstreet-online.d target="_blank"e as the stock brokerage firms are doing better, they may target other smaller firms for acquisitions to increase their market share. In it's yesterday's article about E*Trade, the author writes that TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab may in fact target E*Trade. "The economy is recovering and the stock market is picking up. It is time for TD Ameritrade (AMTD) and Charles Schwab (SCHW) to grab more market share. One acquisition target recently talked about is E*Trade (ETFC)."
