VA To Hold Veteran Career Fair In Baltimore

Approximately 30 employers from the private and public sectors are interested in hiring Veterans. Veterans are encouraged to bring resumes as some employers will be accepting them on-site.

Employers attending the career fair include: Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), Social Security Administration (SSA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Northrop Grumman, CSX Transportation, Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), National Aeronautics Space Administration (NASA), National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Force 3 Inc., DMG Securities, Walmart, Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Department of Agriculture (USDA).

VetSuccess is a VA vocational rehabilitation program developed to help Veterans complete training and college programs, live as independently as possible in their homes and communities, and prepare for, and succeed in, meaningful careers.

VetSuccess is at the forefront of Veterans’ transition and employment. The VetSuccess program provides services that include career counseling; payment of tuition, books, and fees; help translating military experience to civilian resumes; and direct links to businesses interested in hiring qualified employees.

The program also provides services to Veterans who cannot work due to the seriousness of their disabilities by helping them adjust to their disabilities and participate in their home and community lives through services such as assistive technology or help getting established in volunteer work.

VetSuccess supports the hiring needs of America’s business community. The program prepares Veterans to meet the job needs of employers with training and certifications needed to meet labor market demands.

VetSuccess staff can assist businesses to utilize direct hiring authorities to quickly fill vacancies with highly qualified Veteran applicants and can provide employers with information about tax incentives and other special programs they may be eligible for when hiring veterans.

Veterans participating in VetSuccess are ready for a career. They have job skills that match recruiting demands. They bring a strong work ethic, unique leadership skills, mission orientation, and outstanding training to the workplace.
