According to Fox News the government of Libya has rented a property in New York from Donald Trump to pitch a tent for its president Muammar Qaddafi, where he will stay and entertain guests during his visit to United Nations conference. Apparently Donald Trump did not know about it.

Fox writes that Qaddafi wanted to put up a tent in Libya's estate in Englwood, NJ, but local officials have objected because of the recent incidents in connection with Scotland's recent release of Libyan Abdel Baset al-Megrahi. Therefore, thegovernment of Libya has pitched a tent in suburban New York that leader Muammar al-Qaddafi may use for entertaining, according to a State Department official.

"The Trump Organization said Qaddafi would not be coming to Trump's estate and insisted that Trump has not rented property to the Libyan. But it said part of the estate "was leased on a short-term basis to Middle Eastern partners, who may or may not have a relationship to Mr. Qaddafi. We are looking into the matter."

Interestingly, Qaddafi has asked to pitch a tent in NYC's Central Park. However, the request was denied.

The president of Libya is known to live in a tent because of his beduin heritage.

Qaddafi often resides in a tent when traveling. Wikipedia on Qaddafi's page, writes that the plans to erect a tent in Central Park or in Libya's property in N.J are canceled by Qadaffi himself after the protests of the local community leaders.

When Vladimir Putin, then the Russian President, visited Libya, he and his entourage also were hosted in a tent.
