The head coach of the national soccer team of Argentina and a world soccer champion Diego Maradona hinted that he could resign from the position of coaching the Argentinian football team unless certain conditions are met, reports Terra. He did not specify what does conditions are.

Upon the completion of the training ahead of the match with the national team of Peru on Saturday, Maradona said he has a pending meeting with the president of the Argentinian Footbal Association Jlio Gondona to assess his continuity in the team.

"Julius called me to his house and offered me the job. I told him I was the happiest guy in the world, but then things happened that I did not like and I'm going to say. I'll see if I continue with my conditions," surprised Maradona in a brief impromptu press conference.

Maradona said his commitment is to the players. He lamented the poor performance of the last game due to the injury of Pablo Zabaleta of Manchester.

Maradona expressed his unhappiness with the technical director of the national soccer team Carols Bilardo. Apparently Bilardo has taken decisions without consulting with Diego. According to Irish Times the two don't get along and barely speak to each other.

Bilardo led Argentinal as its coach in 1986 to FIFA world cup victory. However, now it appears that he can't let it go. Obviously the current situation is not healthy for the team.

Argentina is risking to not even qualify for the FIFA World Finals in South Africa next year in 2010.

Maradona returned from a 10-day break in Italy and told reporters he was in sole charge and "no-one imposes players on me"
